Have you been swooped by a bird when out walking or cycling? Watched a person wiz by on a bicycle without pedalling and asked how are they doing that? Would like to participate on Ride to Work Day but not sure how?
Then this workshop is for you. Learn the tips on how ‘not to be’ a target for swooping birds. Have your questions answered regarding electric bikes, how to operate and to ride them. And receive basic maintenance tips on how to look after your bicycle. Find out about the cycling groups you can join or the walks that are on offer in Hobsons Bay.
The presentations will end at 3.00pm and practice rides of the electric bicycle and an engraving service to guard against theft of bicycles will be available.
The door prize is an iPod Shuffle and solar recharger valued at $300

Wind down at the end of the week and enjoy an insight into Japanese culture through the eyes of young Australians who have either been to Japan, draw Manga (Japanese art form) or learn the language.
Every year the Hobsons Bay International Friendship Association sends four young Australians to the city of Anjo in Japan. This great opportunity to experience Japan’s unique arts and culture is open to all young people of Hobsons Bay.
You are invited to come along and hear the stories of the young ambassadors’ trip to Japan, enjoy a cross-cultural performance, tune into Japanese poetry and view an exhibition of original artwork by the Altona Manga group. (The official delegation from Anjo will be present as well).
