The Friends of Altona Libraries Illustration Competition

Marc McBride is an award winning 'air brush' illustrator of children’s books; best known for his cover artwork of Emily Rodda's Deltora Quest books and The Quentaris Chronicles, he will launch the Friends of Altona Libraries Illustration Competition.
Marc has illustrated more than one hundred book covers, in 2001 he won, along with Emily Rodda, the Aurealis Award for Excellence for the Deltora Quest series and The Deltora Book of Monsters.
Enjoy afternoon tea and be inspired by Marc to have a go at capturing the competition theme: 'Draw yourself into your favourite story'.
The competition will be open to all students from Grade Prep to Year 12 who are members of Hobsons Bay Libraries.
A four week program designed especially for children from birth to 18 months and their caregivers. Sessions include rhymes, finger plays, songs and short stories.
Rhymetime aims to develop young children's listening and interactive skills and provides an opportunity for them to socialise.
