During August the computer memory was upgraded from 6mb to 12mb, and this greatly improved efficiency and response time.

Micro computers such as the Apple II and Apple Macintosh were well used by 50 regular users.

McNaughton’s Bestselling Fiction Collection was established in November of 1988, and was judged to be an outstanding success by the library’s borrowing public.  McNaughton’s was an interesting concept in that the library leased the books from McNaughton’s.  The books arrived fully processed and were returned and exchanged for a new set of books periodically.
