In June 1995 Hobsons Bay Libraries acting librarian Mr Daniel Ferguson moved onto a career change within the book industry world. He was sorely missed by library staff; particularly his passion, vision and his many achievements. He certainly left his mark on Altona City Library.

Mr Ferguson was replaced by Ms Pamela Wansink who was employed as Manager Libraries in July 1995.

New staff structures were earmarked for the near future and customer input was called for in a formal survey prior to Christmas 1995.

Suggestion boxes were placed in all libraries with a promise that a direct response would be received.

The age of the Internet was upon us. In the August/September Hobsons Bay Libraries newsletter an item promoting special previews of the internet throughout Science Week heralded “the Internet as the information provider of the future!”
