Education, Employment and Lifelong Learning Strategy  Printer Friendly

Lifelong learning is vital for economic progress and social cohesion. The Australian Government has identified four key features of lifelong learning.

  • The recognition of both informal and formal learning
  • The importance of self-motivated learning
  • An emphasis on self-funded learning
  • The idea that participation in learning should be universal

The Education, Employment and Learning Strategy 2009 - 2010 provides a coherent framework for Council's support and enhancement of lifelong learning opportunities and was endorsed by Council in October.

Further information can be obtained via the attached documents or by contacting the Hobsons Bay Libraries Co-ordinator Community Learning and Access tel: 9932 3032 or email: communitylearning@hobsonsbay.vic.gov.au
