About Altona Library

Altona Library opened in 1965 and was extended in 1991. It has lovely views across Logan Reserve to Altona Beach and is minutes from Altona train station.  Explore the full history of Altona Library.

Features unique to Altona Library include the EnviroCentre and community language collections in Chinese, Croatian, Greek, Italian, Maltese, Polish and Vietnamese.

 A large meeting room (capacity: 60 people) is available for hire.

Weekdays 1pm-2pm is Community Hour. This hour will restrict access for the elderly, people with a disability, their carers and those that are considered at risk or requiring additional assistance.
