Modern Mending

Do you have clothes with stains, holes and rips? Don’t throw them out – make them better than new with visible mending, a fun, creative alternative to traditional mending. Professional mender Erin Lewis-Fitzgerald will show examples of her work and inspire you to fall back in love with your worn-out clothes and give them another life.

Erin Lewis-Fitzgerald is Australia's leading clothes-mending practitioner, author of the book Modern Mending and shopkeeper at modernmending.com. Her mending has been displayed in art exhibitions in Melbourne and Adelaide and she now teaches mending internationally to an online audience. She is passionate about repair in all its forms; in 2014 she founded Bright Sparks, a social enterprise that repaired and reused electrical appliances, diverting more than 15 tonnes of e-waste from landfill.

This event will be held online via video chat. You will be emailed a link prior to the event along with instructions on how to participate.

Registrations will close at 4pm on Wednesday 14 October.
