Create by the Bay 2021

LIBRS03021 Create By The Bay Web Banner Pillow

2020 will go down in history as a year of upheaval, frustration, lockdowns and masks. But when times are tough, holding onto hope can help us through the dark days. The saying ‘every cloud has a silver lining’ reminds us that we can always find a positive.

Even though it was a year unlike any we’d seen before, 2020 was also the year we discovered new things about ourselves, our collective kindness, resilience, humour and creativity. We spent time at home, but we also found nature. We rediscovered old passions and explored new creative ideas. We found brand new ways of connecting with each other, the world, and ourselves.

Create by the Bay 2021 invites you to reflect upon 2020 and share your silver linings through an original piece of art or writing.

Create by the Bay is open to young creators from Prep to Year 12 who live or study in Hobsons Bay. Our expert panel of judges will be looking for entries that best creatively respond to the theme Silver Linings.

This year's competition will accept entries in two categories:

This is your chance to win some fantastic prizes, as well as the opportunity to have your work exhibited in Hobsons Bay!

Conditions of entry can be viewed here or picked up from any Hobsons Bay Libraries branch.

Entries open: Tuesday 6 April
Entries close: 11.59pm Sunday 11 July
