Her creative writing is often animal-themed. Wonderland, an ode to strange birds, was published in US literary journal Poetry Quarterly and her forthcoming project is a children’s novel called I Want a Dog! which is set at the Royal Melbourne Show’s Championship Dog Show.

Qualifications include Bachelor of Arts (Professional Writing) from Victoria University and Master of Teaching (Primary) from The University of Melbourne.

Life in, and connection to, Hobsons Bay

I am a third generation Hobsons Bay resident. My paternal grandparents lived in Altona after immigrating from Malta in 1959. I grew up in Altona Meadows and attended Queen of Peace Parish Primary School and Mount St Joseph Girls’ School.
My first published work was in Around Laverton Community Newspaper in 2002.
I was awarded First Place in the Hobsons Bay Youth Services National Youth Week 2009 Creative Writing and Poetry Competition for Poetry ‘Worlds Colliding’.
Since 2013 I have worked as a literacy and numeracy tutor at Kip McGrath Education Centre (Altona Meadows) and as a Casual Relief Teacher for many primary schools in the area.
