Libraries Change Lives: a Retrospective

The Libraries Change Lives initiative launched in 2018, with the goal of starting a conversation about the value of public libraries and celebrating the essential services they deliver every day.

Across the Melbourne metropolitan region, membership of Libraries has risen significantly in the past five years, demonstrating the need for sustainable investment in our libraries.

No other institution offers the same safe and inclusive public spaces with free and equal, life-changing access to art, ideas, education and social engagement.

Victorian public libraries change lives by offering communities a place to learn, create and belong.

Visit our exhibition located upstairs at the Williamstown Library and be inspired by the stories of our amazing Hobsons Bay Libraries members.
