We're back! Library branches now open!

Reopening NOV 320x180 002

Following the most recent Victorian Government announcements, Hobsons Bay City Council is pleased to announce that all Hobsons Bay Libraries branches are now open (as of Monday 9 November).

All Hobsons Bay Libraries branches are now open Monday to Friday, 1pm to 6pm and Saturdays, 10am to 1pm.

All items that were loaned out during our closure period have a due date of Monday 23 November 2020. If you need to renew your items beyond this date, you can do this either online or by phoning 1300 462 542 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

The health and safety of the community and staff remain our highest priority, and it is important that everyone planning to visit the library familiarise themselves with what to expect at our branches.

Conditions of entry

  • Masks must be worn at all times, in line with current Government requirements.
  • For contact tracing purposes, we are required to record the details of all visitors. This will be done via QR code scanning. Upon entry into a branch you will be asked to scan a QR code and provide personal details for the purpose of contact tracing.
  • Any items needing to be returned must be returned via the returns chutes located outside each entry.
  • We ask that you keep your visits as short as possible and we appreciate your patience when waiting for entry. Please note that children under 15 years old must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
  • In line with Government health advice, we ask that you maintain a 1.5 metre distance from other visitors and staff at all times, maintain good hand hygiene with sanitiser and wipes available inside the library for your convenience and of course, please stay home if you are feeling unwell. A thermometer will be used to check your temperature prior to entry.
